ETHANOL, IS not a simple replacement for gas.
Due to your appetite for fuel/ THIS IS as good a beginning as any, for the discussion of political/ scientific/ and public responsibility. this is a beginning/ for you to extend into public discussion and relevant social data: to then make a decision for society/ that is appropriate, fair, safe, and adequate for the future. IF you cannot do little things, there is no point in spending effort for "big things"/ you will fail.
Ethanol is about the money, as far as any community or investor is concerned/ nothing more. Ethanol is about the fuel, and the continued expansion of a social impact that fuels generate especially in America. As a fuel replacement for fossil fuels it is suggested: ethanol is an irrelevant addition, except for a slightly cleaner burn. Therefore the purpose of a scientific investigation is to describe in detail exactly what the production of ethanol means to today/ to the future/ and to the environment: presenting that information to each and every media suspicion or question that may appear/ without hiding anything. Ethanol to the politician is about jobs, and property taxes, and the water/ nothing more. Because this is the world of the politician to give to the consumer of society, whatever he or she wants/ irregardless of right or wrong, today they all choose quite simply: whatever is easy! The job therefore of a real politician must be in evidence: what is the true impact upon society itself. Therefore discussions must occur developing a plan to compensate and understand the impacts upon the future of the community/ the future and impact upon the area/ and the impact and needs of the society as a nation and a world. Giving plain and true interest, and fundamental jurisdiction to any aspect of business or industry that will damage or destroy the future of life. Of these basic needs and requirements, is the simple truth of water: where will the water come from/ what happens in a drought, and what are the parameters when society will or will not be allowed to intervene in this loss of public water (there is NO "private water source"). What will happen to the water, in terms of a very significant draw down effect/ particularly in light of the chemical additives that do work their way into the reservoirs both above and below ground level. Who will pay for new wells for private and public concerns? What is the recharge rate, of the water supply on an average year. What is the impact of drainage on the water basin itself: water has a level and it will drain to the lowest level. Therefore the water taken even many miles away in the quantities suggested for ethanol production/ will impact communities because it will lower their water tables to feed the lowest site: leaving people without water. What is the impact of the production facility, on the community and do they understand the reality. What is the impact upon the property values, as this new facility develops a new community? What is the impact on the schools and infrastructure/ and who will pay? In all facilities that burn significant fuel, there is air pollution/ significant findings and notification of particulate matter, and allergens, as will be disbursed into the immediate area must be known. And to what extent will weather have an effect. The disbursement of any toxic material as will be sent into the area must be known/ and the community by vote agree: that this is in our best interest to do/ no one gets a right to interfere in the life of a community; without a vote by that community, once it is fairly and truly informed. It is throwing away resources/ creating debts that will not be paid/ and clearly not benefitting anyone long term: if the reality of the work/ does not fulfill the promises made/ or cannot sustain itself, because of resource loss/ fundamental economic impossibility/ or other. Once the community has been changed/ it must be so, that the benefits continue for the community of people; NOT just a few/ and NOT if it will fail, in just a few years leaving destruction as their only reward.
The current preferred method of ethanol production is called dry milling; wherein the "soggy grain" is taken directly from the water/ and placed in the fire to dry and then burn as a fuel product. The BTU'S necessary for this are significant/ and causes destruction of the grain. Critical to your future is food/ nothing else but water will truly matter to YOU. Because food is the difference between life or death. Therefore production of anything that destroys food is a matter of public conscience: do you want to depend upon a process that requires something you will soon need as a resource? The current rate of world population growth is roughly 2 million more mouths to feed each week/ the current rate of fish and seafood consumption cannot be sustained? Think about it, before you Continue in stupidity; abundance will not last much longer. Irregardless of that, the process of wet milling can be used to sustain livestock. The change from using food as a fire, can be redirected to use the BTU'S after they have done their job in making the ethanol/ to drying the grain as much as is reasonable and feeding the rest directly. The moisture dried from the grains can be contained to effectively help with the water resources, and so on. Do not let anyone tell you, the grain is not made from fuel consumption in agriculture/ CONSIDERABLE fuel is used to support the current means of agriculture: and it does matter! As a "clean fuel"/ if the costs of fuel in environment and resource loss is significant/ then ethanol is no longer clean: but a product based upon not only its own pollutants, but the pollutants used to create the agricultural product. NOT THE LEAST of which is pesticides, and the many problems associated with genetic mutilation.
Public participation is demanded upon the critical links that do establish the reality/ NOT like is common today, wherein "strangers" vote to build anything/ and then leave the paying to the rest. There is no more "they shouldn't have/ or should have"/ Life is to become: WE DID, OR WE DIDN'T DO because of these realities and reasons. Therefore you as a community will make "lists" of the reasons, and the realities that caused these decisions to occur/ and changed the world for your children because of it. They will respect you/ or they will hate you; but at least it will be deserved.
As to the future of life on earth/ the reality is quite clear: the current methods of livestock containment are going to die soon. The antibiotics used to destroy your medicines for yourself are quickly turning against you; making it much harder for humanity to survive. The reality is, NO MORE ANTIBIOTICS for livestock! That means literally, a return to more "old-fashioned" livestock operations/ and that will bring change to rural communities. A use for agricultural foods for livestock/ but a need for water as well. CHANGE IS COMING, one way or the other. A word of advice/ it would be extremely ill-advised, TO DEPEND upon subsidies from the US "government" today. They have no money. That means simply, the promises will die.
Storage facilities and transportation realities are also required. Fundamental facts like corn stored on the ground brings multitudes of mice, it generates molds and mildews, dust, noise , and the fact just one rat would become thousands in just a year with "perfect conditions at this plant"/ not to mention their most efficient predator snakes. That changes the environment, predator and prey/ humidity changes affect insects and their predators and so on. Start becoming informed; Start making decisions that are understood, simple and true/ and a foundation to build a better world/ NOT just resolve an irritation of the moment, or a gluttonous hog trough appetite!
